Screen printed original design by Yorgos Konstantinou on a 30 x 30 cm textured paper.
"In the context of the "Art in PIKPA", an action to support the existence of the PIKPA Open Camp, which hosted people displaced from their countries from 2012 to 2020, the mural “people carrying their homes” came to life. An initiative of the Humade Crafts Workshop, the mural dressed up a small building inside PIKPA, with materials that were at the time considered waste.
This artistic participative action is continuing through this design on the basis of the same idea – of solidarity with displaced people.
What does it mean when a person carries his/her home? Can they ever feel "at home"?
